Many businesses including restaurants, bars, and liquor stores are being forced to close during the COVID-19 Pandemic which will reduce access to alcohol. The restricted access to alcohol creates a dangerous situation for those who are alcohol dependent and go through withdrawal on their own. This presentation will explore alcoholism during the COVID-19 Pandemic by discussing issues including self-medication, the dangers of self-detox/alcohol withdrawal, and the importance of seeking treatment for mental health & substance abuse issues.
